It is Winter once more

And you haven’t called yet

This is the sixth year

But I haven't forgotten

Maybe the phone will chime

And I can at least pretend

That the cold is not there

Or that the room is not home

It is tiring once more

To deal with the wait

The snow freezes my lashes

And the wind chills my ears

Why won’t you call?

I cannot be so vile

My soul is not yet black as coal

Nor have I said a word of complaint

It is aching once more

And I felt sick last night

It should be the happiest time

Yet I only grow more bitter

I never would’ve done that to you

I fear I am becoming worse

Please call as soon as you can

Your voice is warmer than any fire

It will end once more

The frost will melt

All my wrongdoings along with it

And I won’t wait for a long time

Perhaps it is for the best

But I couldn't care any less

Yet I know it will begin anew

Look! It is Winter once more.
