October’s Odd Weather!

October! It’s not only the start of fall, but also the beginning of wearing sweaters, drinking hot cider to warm you up from the cold, and the falling of leaves. But this October has taken a haunting twist. If you've been outside during the past few weeks, you would realize just how unusually warm it was. You get stuffy when you wear sweaters, you crave a cold drink, and the leaves are very much intact. So what’s happening? Meteorologist Bill Gartner says the warm weather is being caused by a high pressure system which creates more shine and less breeze. It is partially caused by the recent rain we have been experiencing. The high pressure system is also coming in from the south, making it warmer. But not to fear: your cold weather will be coming soon! This high pressure system is slowly moving from New Jersey and New York to northern areas. Cold weather should start coming through in the later weeks of October, just in time for Halloween! So don’t throw those sweaters out just yet, and don’t stop buying cider; fall is coming fashionably late! ❧
