On Friday, October 10, the seniors began their day bright and early to celebrate Senior Sunrise, trickling into the building at around 6:40 AM, many of them pajama-clad and bearing snacks. Although the weather was chilly (and maybe a little wet), the seniors were undeterred and set up blankets and towels in the grass to get the best possible view of the sunrise. Some played basketball or chatted amongst themselves while waiting for the sky to slowly brighten.
Eating bagels in solidarity was a highlight for many that morning. Senior Natalie Dundas shared, “I really liked my bagel that Raine got for me. Also, Dr. Rogers took such cute pictures of us.” SGA Co-President Zehra Taqvi echoed similar sentiments, saying, “It was so cute, so aesthetic. I liked that Raine got me bagels.”

After taking a class picture, many were surprised to find they didn’t even notice when the sun had risen. “The trees got in the way of the view,” a few seniors complained, who wish to remain anonymous. Still, perhaps this is a reflection of how the precious time spent with each other early that morning caused them to lose track of all else, a greater testament to their friendship and the value of good company. The Class of 2024 looks forward to experiencing many other senior rites of passage!
